Born in Houston, Texas, Julia began performing at a very tender age.
Holding on to a big screen TV before she could even walk, she'd "sing" and "dance" her own interpretations to those famous Baby Songs videos! A few years later, she "went public" with her interest in performing by joining the
St. Francis de Sales elementary school choir. During that period, she sang
at the school festivals and entertained her friends with Karaoke at every opportunity.
Right after turning 9, Julia relocated to San Antonio, TX with her family. She threw "Star" parties, became an expert at video dancing, and began a long succession of musical theatre and singing performances all around town.
While at Barbara Bush Middle School, Julia's talents earned her many honors. She was voted Most Outstanding in choir by her peers two years in a row. She earned numerous First Place medals in district choir competitions, made Region Choir as a first soprano, and was the only 8th grade girl at her school to receive the coveted Outstanding Soloist award in the 2007 competition. Being just as talented in acting, she was also the only girl at Bush Middle School to receive three First Place plaques in the 2007 District Theatre Contest. Further acknowledgement of her talents came when she was one of just a small number of students accepted into the 2007-2008 Musical Theatre program at NESA, the North East School of the Arts, a local magnet high school.
Julia, though a veteran performer, is also a perfectionist. For the last several years, she has spent countless hours working with some of the top
performance teachers in the city. Currently, she is taking private voice with Dr. Diana Allan, a renowned voice professor from the University of Texas at
the San Antonio campus. Something else that Julia absolutely loves to do, is spend her summers in New York City studying with ACTeen, Inc., the nation's first film acting school for teens.
An amazing singer, Julia can perform any genre of music. She just "wowed" 4200 teachers at the 2008 NEISD Convocation this August! Although extremely busy, Julia is intensely involved in the production of her first album, a combination R&B/hip hop/pop collection of original works. You can preview her current recordings by clicking the Audio tab on this page.
Although just 15 years old, Julia is as accomplished as some performers in their late teens and early twenties. It is the testament of this writer that she is one of the most outstanding teenagers you could ever meet. Keep it up Julia--we are all rallying behind you!
